The Westfield International Film Festival, a Big Dreams and Silver Screens production, is a nonprofit film festival first founded in June of 2013 in an effort to create a warm and welcoming home for independent filmmakers and fans of film in New Jersey and the surrounding area.
I’ve been involved in creating graphics for the film festival for many years and through two locations. When the festival moved from a traditional seated theater to a gold gilded mansion, we knew the look of the graphics needed an overhaul as well. The festival directors requested an old Hollywood vibe with a modern twist.

Siemens Financial Services is a Division of Siemens. The company’s global headquarters is in Munich, Germany. SFS offers international financing solutions in the business-to-business area.
From traditional print collateral to a custom internal newsletter design, I’ve worked with Siemens Financial Services on a wide range of projects over the last dozen years. The style guidelines have changed on multiple occasions over that time and it is always an exciting challenge to reacquaint oneself with the brand and approach.
Rahway’s Own is a campaign that showcases the achievements of noteworthy current and former Rahway, NJ residents. The goal of the program is to instill pride in the community and to inspire young people in the city to reach their highest potential.
The marketing initiative features a series of large-scale posters and banners featuring a yearly class of honorees, who were first nominated by their neighbors and then chosen by a select committee. The final posters appear in high-traffic areas, including New Jersey Transit station platforms and local area shopping malls, and the banners hang in the Rahway High School as inspiration for the students.
As part of the Rahway’s Own creative team, my role has been to design layouts and write copy for the campaign.
In 2015, I won a New Jersey Ad Club award for my participation in the project as copywriter.
Dover is a town in Morris County, New Jersey. Located on the Rockaway River, Dover is about 31 miles west of New York City and about 23 miles west of Newark, New Jersey.
I began working with Dover on a publication called The Dover Focus. The publication was mailed to area residents and contained local information and events. My role on The Dover Focus was page layout and design.
In an effort to reach all of Dover’s diverse community, we created a new publication called The Mayor’s Monthly Message / Mensaje Mensual Del Alcalde. The eight page publication was an expanded version of the Mayor’s letter from the Focus and contained the content in both English and Spanish. The challenge in designing the piece was showing the same content in the same amount of space (four pages for English and four for Spanish) despite the word count being quite different.
In addition to town publications, I worked with Dover to create graphics for multiple events, including the annual Winter Wonderland celebration, various town-wide events and networking gatherings.
Vasari Classic Artists' Oil Colors produce high quality handcrafted oil colors, intensely pigmented and carefully ground in small batches, the traditional way.
In order to stay connected to their loyal customer base, Vasari continuously provides new content and exciting offers to their audience through a mix of digital and print collateral. I work hand-in-hand with owner and master paint-maker, Stephen Salek, to design a weekly email campaign, bimonthly printed newsletter, postcards and various art publication ads that appeal to their artistic following. In addition, we created a separate blog where Vasari can highlight artists of interest, recommend upcoming art shows and discuss all things related to their paint.
Vasari is a wonderful example of how a traditional business can use the digital world to strengthen their brand.
Bonus: Take a moment to enjoy paint mixing on the mill on Vasari’s Instagram page.
The Mountainside Peak is a quarterly publication contracted by the borough of Mountainside, NJ. The four page document is mailed to every resident in the borough highlighting vital information, announcing upcoming events and listing important contact information.
I was brought in to the Mountainside Peak project early in the development and design of the first volume. The masthead and color palette had already been decided for the first edition; my task was to design the pages and edit the content to fit all of the important information.
The piece has evolved throughout the first five editions based on client feedback and reader response. For example, the idea was initially to create a seasonal palette for each quarter. When planning each issue, the client and I would revisit the overall design and approach and, after a few issues, we came to the conclusion that it made more sense to offer consistency for the reader by sticking to one color palette. Rather than change the color palette for each season, we are incorporating a local seasonal image on the cover taken by a borough photographer.
I began my professional design career creating animatics at a test production company, working with talented ad agency creatives for some of the leading consumer brands – including Kraft, Pillsbury, Birds Eye, Lucky Charms, and GMC. I learned motion as a storytelling tool – which I believe, when used best, it is.
Since then, most of the motion pieces I’ve worked on have been used at tradeshows, for advertising, or shown on the web.

Social media has become an integral part of a brand’s marketing, no less important than a logo or website. A social presence lends legitimacy and authenticity and allows for two-way conversation with the audience.
The sample of work shown here is an assortment of social media graphics created for various clients. The pieces stand alone but also align to the brands’ style and voice.
